All You Need to Know About Types of Cloud Services

In The Last Article, We Discussed The 6 major benefits of cloud Computing, Now it's time for knowing the types of cloud computing services that are available to use. This Categories majorly depend on the way they are used in a business or some other use.

Cloud Computing Model Explained.

Cloud Resources, computing models, and deployment are the factors used for categorizing the types of cloud usage. In Cloud Deployment Models The Various ways in which we can deploy the cloud into your business are considered mainly. For more info on Types of Cloud Deployment models Refer to Types of Cloud Computing | Explained. Another Cloud usage classification is based on Cloud Computing Models. This is based on the actual use of how the employees or the developers use cloud computing resources. This is basically divided into 3 types. Let's See in Detail about Each of them.

1. Infrastructure As  A Service or IAAS:

It means that the cloud service provider(CSP) is providing the whole infrastructure which you can modify according to your business needs. This requirement can be both on-premise deployment of resources or virtual Computing engines like Amazon EC2 Which we talk about in our future Articles. It is also known as Hardware as a service as the CSP are providing the entire hardware physically or virtually. These is Services types as all the 6 most benefits of Cloud Computing.

In these types of Services security, Networking, Cost savings, resources management, deployment, and terminating of the instances or resources can be done easily. Almost everything is under the control of the customer. Popular Cloud Services providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud also provide this kind of feature. This basically means owing to the resources without actually worrying about their maintenance and paying them in "pay as you go" prices.

2. Platform As A Service or PAAS:

It means that cloud service providers provide the Environment, or platform on which the developers can work and develop their business. This is mostly used to deliver Resoruces, Services, Application or software testing, and Web application deployment over the internet. Usually, The tool of PAAS is Hosted over the internet like Web hosting.

It is important to remember that the developers or users are not aware of the underlying infrastructure of the services, What kind of resources are used, and What types of networking securities are used. They are only limited to the application on which they are working. This is more beneficial for the workers who just want to deploy applications without worrying about the underlying network. As we are not deploying so many resources and only use as much as we require it is also more cost-effective than IAAS. Some of the examples of PAAS are AWS Beanstalk, Heroku, Blogger, Google App Engine, etc.

3. Software As A Service or SAAS:

This is the simplest way of providing services. In other Services, we need to maintain the software or platform or the underlying network, but in this type of service, we have to access the resources via the internet or the software made by the CSP. As we do not care about other aspects such as security, networking, storage, and resources management, this is the most cost-effective service. Most of the Software of these services is almost browser compatible and doesn't require additional installation of software or hardware.

The deployment of this series is also very fast compared to other services. The usages are Fully Scalable according to the business needs and customizable based on different environments The major disadvantage of using these services is most of the requirements are managed by third-party vendors and only a few are managed by us. When we are switching from one vendor to another the transition is also difficult. Common examples of SaaS are Dropbox, Email, Google Workspace, etc.
